Hi Steven, good point about the page rank of .edu and .gov sites. I was under the impression that .edu, .gov, and .org links weighs just as much in the eye of Google as links from a .com or a .net. I would have had given up looking for .edu links if you did not point out the page rank thingy, and the method to find them as well. For that, big thanks to you!

Thanks Steven,
Before reading your article, (I forund in the Wealthy Affiliate Community) I didnt even know what a backlink was! I have been at WA now for a month and am on week 4 in the action plan. If I would have known about backlinking I might have made some money already…. Who knows, well thanks again for your help.

Mark, you are quite correct, and nowhere did I mention that they did. Nevertheless, .edu and .gov domains by their very nature are more likely to hold authority than other domains because they’re primarily educational as opposed to commercial. A very large percentage of .edu and .gov domains will be in the PR6+ category, whereas most .com domains may well be in the PR0-PR1 category. For this reason, I’d much rather spend my time looking through a thousand .edu/.gov domains than a thousand .com/.net/.info domains.
